Out of the blue?

Hello everyone!

This first post about English color idioms concerned the color "black", the color used in most English idiomatic expressions. The second most common is "blue", which will be covered in today's post

Blue chip company = a company with a solid reputation for the quality of its products and the stability of its growth and earnings

Blue in the face = If you do something until you are blue in the face, you try to do something unsuccessfully for a long time

Feel blue = to have feelings of deep sadness

Out of the blue = something that happens very suddenly and unexpectedly

Scream (blue) murder = someone who screams blue murder

Blue blood = the blood of a noble family

Blue ribbon = of superior quality

Talk a blue streak = to talk very much and rapidly
